Doe Run Farm CSA (Community Supported Agriculture)

I personally have never participated in a CSA, but I am intrigued by the idea.  I found this one for the Huntsville area today.

A CSA is where you pay a local farm to deliver (well, you pick it up) fresh produce to you each week during the summer.  The benefits are it is local and very fresh (which I prefer 'cause it tastes better).

Doe Run Farm CSA is $795 for a regular share or $495 for a mini share.  The program is 18 weeks long, and three additional packages may be added onto your share.  There are pick-up locations in Huntsville, Madison and Hampton Cove as well as numerous locations in Tennessee.  Applications are on a first come, first serve basis and are due April 1 with payment.

Being the frugal person I am, $44.17/week for produce seems really high to me.  I'm not sure how much food comes with a share, so I don't know if this is a good value.  Based on the two pictures I saw, it is enough food to split with another family or two (which would make it a better deal)--it's a cardboard box full each week.

Are there any other CSA's in the area?
