Operation Green Team Earth Day Activities at Hays Nature Preserve this Saturday

Saturday, April 16 from 10:00 am - 3:00 pm
Birding Hike at 7:30 am--bring your binoculars
Grand Opening of the Terrame Natural Playground at 10:00 am
70 earth friendly exhibitors/vendors with informative exhibits and demonstrations throughout the day.


They're also giving away 1,000 trees!
  • Buy from local businesses at our Earth Day Farmer’s Market 
  • Get healthy cooking tips from Chef Will’s cooking demonstration 
  • Be entertained with green magic by “Steve Trash”, a world-famous eco-illusionist 
  • Get tips on having a more energy-efficient home 
  • Learn about bees and the art of being a beekeeper 
  • Children will enjoy a variety of activities including, playing in the natural playground, crafts to make and take home, and learning about animals --- get up close to a chinchilla, hedgehog, snakes and more to pet.
Pepsi will have lunch items available or you can bring a picnic lunch. Please bring reusable water bottles to fill at our water stations.
Directions: In Huntsville, AL, from the intersection of I-565 and US Hwy 431/231 (Memorial Parkway), take Hwy 431 south for 10.7 miles. The Hays Preserve is on the left (north) side of the road just after mile marker #324. Turn off just before crossing the Flint River.
